Academic Venue Solutions Unveils New Chair, Board Appointments and Welcomes New Members

Academic Venue Solutions (AVS) has announced a dynamic set of leadership changes and membership expansions following its recent Annual Conference and Awards, signaling fresh momentum as the UK not-for-profit consortium moves into 2026.

Emma Woodcock, a long-standing board member with deep experience in higher education venues and commercial strategy, has been appointed as the new Chair of the Board of Directors. She succeeds Clare Forster, who steps down after six years of steering AVS’s strategic growth and will now serve as Immediate Past Chair.

Alongside this leadership transition, AVS has strengthened its board with the addition of Kyran Le Chevalier and Gemma Hill of Manchester Metropolitan University. These new directors are expected to bring fresh perspectives and sector expertise to enhance the consortium’s governance and member representation.

In a further boost to its network, Derby University Venues and the University of Brighton have joined AVS as new members. Both offer an array of modern, flexible event spaces and are noted for their high standards in hospitality and service.

With these strategic appointments and an expanding membership base, AVS is poised for continued growth, offering greater support and reach for event planners and academic venues across the UK.
