The Association of Event Venues (AEV) has become the latest corporate member to join the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Events, reinforcing its commitment to advocating for the UK events industry at the highest levels of government.
AEV's membership aligns with the APPG's mission to represent the interests of the events sector within Parliament. By joining the APPG, AEV aims to contribute to policy discussions on critical issues such as updating Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes, streamlining visa processes, and introducing an event tax credit scheme. These initiatives are designed to enhance the UK's competitiveness as a global destination for events.
The APPG, chaired by Shaun Davies, MP for Telford, serves as a platform for cross-party collaboration on matters affecting the events industry. Managed by PR and communications agency Davies Tanner through its Business of Events Think Tank and Advocacy Network, the group is currently developing its Parliamentary Plan of Work, set to outline its priorities for the upcoming legislative session.
AEV's inclusion in the APPG underscores the importance of unified industry representation in shaping policies that support the growth and sustainability of the UK's events sector.
