Bristol is set to become a major hub on the international live entertainment map with the announcement of the Aviva Arena, a brand-new 20,000-seat indoor venue. The name comes from a long-term sponsorship agreement between YTL Live and Aviva, the UK’s leading diversified insurer, marking a key milestone in one of Europe’s most ambitious venue developments.

Scheduled to open in late 2028, the Aviva Arena will be housed within the central Brabazon Hangar at Filton Airfield, a site rich in aviation history as the birthplace of the Concorde. Transforming this historic space into a world-class entertainment destination, the venue is expected to host more than 120 major events annually, drawing an estimated 1.4 million visitors each year for concerts, sports and cultural events.

Beyond performances, the wider YTL Live complex will include conference and exhibition spaces, helping drive an anticipated £1 billion contribution to the Bristol economy over its first decade. The project is also set to create thousands of jobs over 2,000 during construction and around 500 permanent roles once operational.

With sustainability and community impact at its core, Aviva Arena aims to support not just global touring acts but also local artists all while enhancing Bristol’s cultural footprint and strengthening Aviva’s longstanding connection with the region.
