Dell Technologies recently hosted two regional forums in Mumbai and Bangalore, India, achieving remarkable waste diversion rates of 98.64% and 92.88%, respectively. These events were the first to receive zero-waste event certification from SCS Global Services, a leading environmental certification organization.
In collaboration with Kestone Global and Saahas Zero Waste, Dell implemented comprehensive waste management strategies, including recycling and composting stations, onsite waste sorting teams, and the use of reusable event materials. This integrated approach not only minimized environmental impact but also set a precedent for future sustainable events.
Sandip Pattanaik, National Head of Experiential Marketing at Kestone Global, emphasized the goal of aligning sustainability with technology, aiming to create a forward-thinking event model. Indu Kannan, Senior Vice President of Kestone Global, highlighted this achievement as a testament to pushing boundaries and setting new benchmarks in the events industry.
Arun Murugesh, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Saahas Zero Waste, noted the significant benefits of zero-waste initiatives, such as reducing waste generation and recovering valuable resources. Inna Kitaychik, Director at SCS Global Services, praised the events for proactively addressing waste management by implementing effective processes and partnerships.
These accomplishments underscore Dell's commitment to sustainability and serve as a benchmark for the industry, demonstrating that large-scale events can successfully integrate zero-waste principles.
