The Events Industry Council (EIC) has initiated a global survey as part of its upcoming 2026 Economic Significance of Business Events Study, aiming to capture the true value and impact of the global meetings and events sector. This initiative invites participation from industry professionals worldwide to help build a comprehensive data-driven understanding of the sector’s economic and societal contributions.

The study, being developed in collaboration with Oxford Economics, will provide key insights into how business events contribute to job creation, economic growth, and global connectivity. It will also support advocacy efforts by offering credible data that policymakers and industry leaders can rely on when shaping future strategies.

EIC emphasized that broad global participation is critical to ensuring the study reflects diverse markets and industry segments. The findings are expected to be released in 2026, aligning with Global Meetings Industry Day, further highlighting the importance of business events as a driver of economic and social progress.
