Exhibition Industry Poised for Growth as AI Adoption Reaches New Heights

UFI’s latest 35th edition of the Global Exhibition Barometer, published on 24 July 2025, reveals promising outlooks for the exhibition sector heading into 2025. Based on responses from 386 companies across 58 countries, the report highlights sustained momentum in space rental, revenue, and staffing growth, alongside a significant leap in AI adoption.

Approximately 34% of exhibitors expect to increase rented exhibition space by more than 5% in their domestic market while 36% anticipate similar growth within their own organizations. Markets such as Brazil, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE show the strongest growth expectations. However, the USA and Germany largely expect stability, and China signals a decline.

On revenue, 39% of businesses foresee more than 5% growth in services, and 26% expect similar gains in sponsorship opportunities. Meanwhile, 40% plan to increase workforce in the next six months, reflecting robust confidence across sectors.The survey also underscores a sharp rise in digital engagement 63% of companies now use AI tools regularly to support business operations. The report notes that eight out of ten firms are initiating new activities, signifying diversification and innovation within exhibitions.

Top concerns cited by respondents include global economic shifts, geopolitical tensions, and domestic economic conditions. Despite these headwinds, optimism remains high as firms adapt and expand.
