The Power of Events has launched its Experience of Work Programme in the UK, aiming to give young people around 1,500 opportunities to explore careers in the events industry during its first year.
Launched at the Business Design Centre in London, the initiative has already received commitments covering approximately half of its first-year target. Industry associations, including PLASA, PSA, AEV, mia and ABPCO, are helping build support for the programme.
The initiative allows groups of students to experience real event workplaces through half-day or full-day visits. Participants can discover different career paths by visiting venues, production warehouses and event teams, gaining practical insight into the technical, creative and operational roles behind live events.
To help organisations participate, The Power of Events has developed a toolkit featuring planning templates, activity ideas, safeguarding guidance and resources for measuring impact. The programme is expected to expand nationally, with businesses encouraged to host experiences during 2027.
Effective coordination will be important as more organisations join. Event teams can use a Bulk calendar invite in gmail to share schedules with participating groups. Organisers looking for How to Send Bulk calendar invite in gmail, Mass calendar invite in gmail, or How to send Mass calendar invite in gmail can explore ways to coordinate event dates and communications efficiently.
The programme aims to help young people discover career opportunities they may not otherwise encounter.
