In a fresh and engaging move, beam and the Meetings Industry Association (MIA) have unveiled comedian-activist Stuart Goldsmith as the keynote speaker for the upcoming ESG Summit, slated for 15 September 2025 at Warwick Conferences. Goldsmith, celebrated for his climate-focused comedy, will bring a witty yet weighty take on the urgent subject of the climate crisis right in line with the summit’s mission of encouraging responsible business practices in events.
Goldsmith has built a reputation on blending humour with insight, having performed on BBC’s Live at the Apollo, Conan in Los Angeles, and at major festivals worldwide. His solo show Spoilers earned the Best Show award at Leicester Comedy Festival and received five-star acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023 recognised for confronting sustainability with both levity and hope. His work has also appeared in outlets like BBC News, Radio Times, and News UK, and he has featured at high-profile sustainability events including the Net Zero Festival, Blue Earth Summit, and GreenBiz.
Louisa Watson, Chair of beam, welcomed Goldsmith’s addition, noting that “his ability to combine comedy with such a serious and urgent topic offers a brilliantly refreshing way to inspire conversations and action” at the summit. Beyond Goldsmith’s talk, the ESG Summit 2025 will also feature panel discussions, breakout sessions, and case-study presentations curated with partners like isla, Greengage, event:decision, Circular Life, and Scopes Carbon all designed to help the events sector embed ESG as a core strategic pillar.
