The Power of Events has announced the establishment of a North West hub as part of its Schools Engagement Programme, aiming to introduce students aged 13-18 to diverse career opportunities within the events industry. This initiative builds upon a successful pilot launched in January 2024 in the East of England, which engaged over 6,500 students across 35 schools, significantly enhancing their understanding of the sector.

The pilot programme notably increased student awareness of the events industry from an initial 1% to 65% post-presentation. Following this success, the programme is set to expand across the UK, with the North West hub being a key component of this rollout. The initiative seeks to engage all 4,210 secondary schools across the four nations within the next five years.

The Power of Events is actively seeking regional sponsors and industry professionals to support this expansion. Businesses are encouraged to collaborate with their local event industry communities to sponsor new regional rollouts, directly impacting the educational journey of thousands of students. Additionally, professionals can volunteer as Schools Ambassadors, playing a pivotal role in presenting the programme's content in local schools and introducing students to the seven sectors and five routes into the industry.

Founder Rick Stainton emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "This initiative not only provides an excellent CSR opportunity but also helps support the future of the UK events industry."
