London’s iconic live events venue Troxy has completed a significant £1.5 million redevelopment, boosting its capacity to 3,600 and reinforcing its position in the city’s competitive mid-sized venue market.

The transformation project focused on enhancing both audience experience and operational efficiency while preserving the venue’s historic Art Deco character. Originally opened in the 1930s as a cinema, Troxy has evolved into a versatile space hosting concerts, corporate events, and cultural programmes.

A major highlight of the upgrade is the reopening and redevelopment of previously unused basement areas. These spaces have been repurposed to improve crowd flow, provide additional amenities, and support larger audiences. Structural changes, including improved fire exits and circulation routes, have also enabled the increase in standing capacity from approximately 3,100 to 3,600.

Guest-facing facilities have been significantly improved, with expanded restroom capacity, upgraded cloakroom services, and better entry and exit management. These enhancements aim to reduce congestion and deliver a smoother end-to-end visitor experience.

The redevelopment reflects a broader trend in the events industry, where venues are modernising to accommodate hybrid formats, advanced production needs, and evolving attendee expectations all while maintaining architectural heritage.

With this investment, Troxy is better positioned to attract larger events, touring acts, and corporate gatherings, strengthening its role in London’s live entertainment ecosystem.
